Killing Time

My partner has a tendency to say, “I was just killing time” when I apologize for interrupting something being read or watched. My response is to mutter, “Murderer.”

In all seriousness, that statement does tend to bother me. Another careless remark I hear is “time is free.” No, I argue, it’s the most precious commodity we have.

On that note, it’s time I get writing. It's National Novel Writing Month and fifty thousand words aren't going to write themselves.

What’s your favorite time waster?

  1. One of my favorite time wasters is reading blogs :-) If only those 50,000 words would write themselves...I don't know why they can't organize themselves into complete sentences and cogent thoughts while I hang out in the blogosphere.

    1. hahaha....my fav time waster....FACEBOOK then Blogging! I typed that out once, and I lost it..hoping it did not go to be approved before posting! In reply to you comments on the blog....first off, unlike you, I would have busted out laughing in a public place over Dakota! I don't care! And next...I have nothing like word or anything on my computer, I saw some free ones out there, is there a program that you could recommend one for me? Really thinking of writing a book about Dakota then one of Dakota and Lily. My writing pretty much sucks but if I add pics I might enjoy giving it to family.....

    2. I bet you'd write a fabulous book, Pam! I'll think about what to recommend but I'm not the most savvy on tech. Be well!

  6. I've progressively cut out more and more time wastes as the years roll on, but I'd argue my biggest is still and will always be video games. At the end of the day though, even those don't really count because they're used for relaxation.

    1. Good for you! With all your talents and projects you need all the time you're afforded.

  7. I really don't thing I waste much appreciable time. I stay so far behind, I am always in motion when I am on my feet.

Well, maybe there are a few things I focus on that are not that relevant... like working up a list of questions where there are no wrong answers... that is sort of pointless, isn't it?
