I Need Professional Help

I am not tech savvy. It’s not a secret. My forte is writing fiction. It’s my passion and calling.

That said, I enjoy blogging as a way to connect with folks. And thank you to the many people who patiently tutor me on learning related computer processes. I don’t have the will or patience to take courses, even online.

But can someone please explain to me why the formatting is so difficult with Blogger? I thought I had everything down pat, then I go into preview mode and the text formatting is all wrong.

So I copy and past the proper HTML to correct that and find video missing. I swear I feel my blood pressure rise every time. Am I the only one?

Maybe I should use a different blogging platform. What do you think?

  1. I am so sorry, I can't help without seeing. I am a visual person for sure. I have to actually sit in front of the issue to see what is going on. Sorry. Anyway, Hoppy Easter!

    1. Not a problem. It's not a big deal. I just wanted to whine. ~grin~ Thanks for making me smile, and Happy Easter to you, too!

    2. Hey Darla, sometimes we just have to whine. I have pity parties sometimes! Hope you have a great day.

  2. Several years ago I got introduced to a brief online coding "class". It wasn't so much a class as a series of lessons one could work through to understand how HTML works. With that, I've been able to fix most issues in Blogger. But I'm no expert.

Are you pasting the HTML for the video in the HTML tab? Are you pasting the whole thing? I don't know what to tell you.

    1. Thanks, Liz! I appreciate your assistance. That is what I've been doing, going back and forth between compose and HTML, which is when the issue comes up, the video code getting lost somehow in between. ~shrugs~ I'll just keep trying. Be well!

  3. Sorry to hear your problems. I have had problems in the past and I haven't a clue about HTML, so I just change things manually - cutting and pasting - until it's as I want it. I've not tried uploading videos so I'm not sure about that. I hope you have a less stressful week and the bugs work themselves out. Take care, Darla. Keep the faith :)

    1. Thanks, my dear! If that's the worst stress in my life I am a rare, blessed creature. And I am! I hope you are well. Happy blogging!

  4. I never used Blogger, so can't help with that. :/ Have you tried the free version of WP? It's easy to learn, and the best thing is that once you're ready, you're a few clicks away from creating a paid author website. The difference between a paid website and a free one is that the free platforms own your content. The paid websites are completely yours, body and heart 😜

    2. Thanks for the tip, Grace! That's some excellent information. I wonder if I might have guessed it was you with the Hebrew characters. ~grin~ I like to think so but I'm probably not that clever.
